A celebrity favourite, we offer Profhilo, Sunekos & Seventy Hyal skin booster treatments here at Astral Skin Clinic which are all non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid gels found naturally in the skin. Unlike dermal filler which adds volume below the surface of the skin, skin boosters stimulate the fibroblast cells to actually produce more natural collagen and elastin, creating hydration on a biological level. Are Skin Boosters right for me?
Rather than targeting specific problem areas, think of skin boosters as providing for your skin, a sprinkling of small improvements which give a combined overall effect of making you look better rested and radiant from within.
The award winning Profhilo quickly dominated the skin boosters market winning the injectable product of the year at the Aesthetic Awards but there are other brands available, with equally impressive results including Seventy Hyal 2000 and Sunekos which we can discuss with you depending on the area of treatment and desired results.
It's also worth noting that a skin booster such as Seventy Hyal can be used for the lips instead of dermal filler. The main action of this is to give hydration from within for dry lips, but an added bonus is that you'll get to see what your lips would look like with dermal filler, if only for a day or two until the Skin Booster has settled in.
How long does it last?
We typically recommend an initial course of two treatments, one month apart, with a top up treatment every six months for the best results.
Will it hurt?
A strong anaesthetic numbing cream will be applied to the area ahead of injecting to minimise discomfort. Additionally, as Dr Mike has vast experience in injecting dermal filler, his injection technique will also limit discomfort.

Profhilo, the first BDDE- free, stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid is used for treating skin laxity. Containing one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64 mg / 2 ml), it not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. Whilst dermal filler restores lost volume and anti-wrinkle treatments act by reducing movement, this treatment improves skin quality by stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin giving both skin-plumping and skin-tightening effects. Suitable for all ages, Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetic treatments we offer. Quite often we pair with some baby botox for the ultimate, natural looking glow up.
Profhilo BODY works wonders on the stomach and backs of arms. Adding volume and boosting the skin in areas that may be sagging or wrinkling with age, this is a very popular treatment for women post-partum or to tighten skin on the tummy after weight loss.
Sunekos 200 can be used on any part of the body such as the face, neck, décolletage and hands. This product is particularly effective in the periocular (under eye) area, to reduce dark circles and bags, and on the forehead area. Sunekos 1200 is also great for sagging skin and severe wrinkles caused by loss of volume. It also has antioxidant and volumising properties.

What is the downtime?
As with all injections, it is possible that some slight swelling or bruising may occur for 2-3 days. We ask that you try to refrain from touching your face or applying cream or makeup directly after the procedure. That being said, as treatments go, there is very little downtime, and you'll start to see results within two days -two weeks, depending on the product.
