JAWLINE & CHIN

Dermal filler can be used to define the jawline and chin and to resculpt and rebalance the face, as subtlety or as radically as you prefer. Various adjustments can be performed with a deep dermal filler. “Masculinisation” may involve accentuating the squaring of the lower face, whereas “feminisation” typically involves offsetting this and sometimes balancing the overall face shape by also using cheek filler, to give a more 'heart-shaped' appearance in the front-facing perspective. Definition, chiselling or reduction of sagging such as the jowl, sometimes known as the 'HD jawline' can be achieved on any face.  A double chin can be reduced in size using a different treatment, referred to as 'fat-dissolving' or, dermal filler can be used to tighten up this area whilst also sharpening up the jawline.  Additionally, a short chin, as seen from a side profile, can be improved with dermal filler applied to the chin.

Dr. Michael Aicken has been using hyaluronic acid gel (dermal filler) to enhance patients’ features for over 16 years. He has taught his own technique to thousands of trainees from around the world. During your consultation, Michael can discuss the desired outcome and what you are looking to achieve.

Jawline & Chin Filler right for me?

If you'd like to see an improvement in the definition of your jaw, a reduction in jowls, reduction in double chin, masculinisation or feminisation of your face shape, facial rebalancing of your side profile due to a mild underbite or correction of an asymmetry, this is a good option for you.

Also, the results can be as subtle or as pronounced as you like and Michael will discuss this with you during your consultation.

How long does it last?

Jawline & Chin filler is temporary, although it is fairly long-lasting and can be easily topped up. We would expect it, in these areas, to last 6-12 months depending on the client and the product.

Will it hurt?

strong anaesthetic numbing cream will be applied to the area ahead of injecting. This will minimise discomfort. The filler itself also contains lidocaine which will optimise comfort levels throughout. Additionally, as Michael has vast experience in injecting dermal filler, his injection technique will also limit discomfort.

What volume to go for?

This is between you and Michael, and he will advise you during your consultation. Typically we're using 2-4ml on most clients attending for this procedure, although in the 'before and after' image seen above, only 1ml was required. Every patient is different, and the results can be as subtle or as pronounced as you like.

What will it cost?

Our dermal filler for the Jawline & Chin at Astral Skin Clinic is £230 for 1ml, £330 for 2ml, £430 for 3ml and £530 for 4ml.

What is the downtime?

As with all injections, it is possible that some slight swelling or bruising will occur for 2-3 days. We ask that you try to refrain from touching the area or applying cream or lipstick directly after the procedure. That being said, as treatments go, there is very little downtime, and after 12 hours makeup and creams can be applied.
